It took me two days to get from Abbotsford to Osoyoos – a whopping 330km’s/205miles.  The drive was very relaxing and the scenery spectacular !  I’m currently residing at NkMip RV Park and have decided to stay here for a week.  Rain is forecasted for today, however, for the rest of the week it is going to be very nice and WARM !!  I plan on exploring the surrounding areas and give my wrist a little exercise !!  LOL  Poor Harley has been so lonesome !!

I took this last picture at about 6:00PM while I was sitting outside having my cuppa tea:

Bennie and I went for a little walk around the Park and he was quite intrigued by these strange creatures.  Poor little things, the water was running quite fast and I think they were afraid to try and cross over.

I’ve read this before but I just received this via e-mail this morning…..

I saw you pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But you didn't see me playing Santa at the local Mall.

I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant when you saw my bike parked out front. But you didn't see me attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by. But you didn't see me riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children. But you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you stare at my long hair. But you didn't see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you roll your eyes at our Leather jackets and gloves. But you didn't see me and my brothers/sisters donate our old ones to those that had none.

I saw you look in fright at my tattoos. But you didn't see me cry as my children where born or have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But you didn't see me going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you yelling at your kids in the car. But you didn't see me pat my child's hands knowing she was safe behind me.

I saw you reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. But you didn't see me squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you race down the road in the rain. But you didn't see me get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But you didn't see me trying to turn right.

I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in. But you didn't see me leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you go home to your family. But you didn't see me. Because I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family. But you didn't see me.

Repost this around in hopes that people will understand the biker community..

If you don't repost this, it sucks to be you. I hope you never lose someone that rides.

Sunday, May 29th

Today I finally felt well enough to start travelling again.  It sure seemed like a long time that I was sick.  Two solid weeks in fact.  I spent 4 weeks at “I & M RV Park” and yet only had the bike out twice and only saw a couple of old friends.  The weather and being sick prevented me from doing much. So I set sail today at the crack of noon.

As soon as we hit the road Bennie gets into his ‘position’…………..

This second picture was taken over an hour later……..

But thankfully that is all over now – I hope !!  I get on the Highway – put on TINA – adjust volume to BUST….

A few hours later I pass this sign that says “Caution – Bears in the area”.  Pfffft Obviously they mean deep in the woods and warning hikers etc.  NOPE, This big guy was right on the side of the Highway and was even considerate enough to be in a spot where there was space to pull over ….

I climbed to quite a high elevation 1,400 meters/4600ft. and started seeing that disgusting white stuff – and lots of it.  Hasn’t anybody told Mother Nature that it’s the end of May for chripes sake !!

I pulled in to Bromley Rock Provincial Park tonight and I am the only one here.  I had hope nobody would come around to collect the $21.00 fee (for no hook-ups !!) but I wasn’t so lucky.  When the guy came by I put on my ‘shocked’ look and told him I thought it was free in off-season (which it is) and very innocently told him I thought the ‘season’ started June 1st.  LOL  He quickly told me it was 1/2 price for ‘Seniors’…… and he proceeded to write out the receipt for $10.50.  Now at my tender young age I’m not pleased to be mistaken for a ‘senior citizen’ – however, if it saves me money I can be OK with that real quick !!  LOL  After he took my license information and saw my plates he tells me that the 1/2 price is only for B.C. residents but he would still only charge me the 1/2 amount.  So Folks, from here on in when I’m staying at a Provincial Park, I’m not only going to be a Senior Citizen but also a B.C. resident.  I’ll just tell them I just moved here and haven’t gotten to changing my plates yet.

It is a very small campground (only 17 campsites) and each site is very small.  They have 3 ‘pull-thru’ sites and calling them that is a bit of a stretch.  LOL  This Park is on the Similkameen River which is nice, however, it is also directly off Highway 3 which is not so nice as there is quite a bit of traffic noise.

Also, There is no cell phone or Internet service.  GASP  !!

I’ll mosey on tomorrow and right now it’s going to be a surprise where ‘home’ will be as I haven’t a clue yet.  The drive from Abbotsford to here was amazing.  The mountain views are majestic.

I’m really hoping to find a great boondocking spot where I’ll hang my hat for a couple of weeks and explore around on the bike.

“Life isn't about how you survive the storm, but how you dance in the rain.”

Pfffft !!!  We’ve had enough rain here to wear out Gene Kelly – Fred Astaire – and every dancer on Broadway !!

I’m definitely in the “Forgetful” and “Psycho” stage !!!  Be afraid – be very afraid !!

I’m now into my 11th day of being sick with this cold and bronchitis.  I thought I was on the mend but no such luck. The anti-biotics I got from the Doctor last week did no good at all.  Yesterday I went back to see a Doctor and got a different, and stronger kind.  I am very positive that these are going to work as today I have seen an improvement already.

Hoping to have something to Blog about in the near future.

I’m on the mend – but ever so slowly !  I’ve been sick since last Saturday (May 14th)  The cold I got put me under the covers for several days and then the normal cold symptoms started to ease off but the cough persisted.  By Tuesday, I knew it was time to see a Doctor.  Yes, As I suspected, I had Bronchitis so anti-biotics were prescribed.

Right in the middle of all of this my computer bit the bullet.  Well actually my computer was fine it just wouldn’t charge anymore.  The place on the computer where the power cord plugs into stopped working.  From the little I could see, it had broken ??  How ‘da hell did that happen ??  So when I would plug it in, it wouldn’t charge.  “I” of “I and M RV Park” was very helpful and took it to a computer repair place hoping it would be a minor fix.  No such luck.  They estimated it would cost approximately $200.00 to fix it.  Well, my computer was several years old so I didn’t want to put any more money into it.  I had just purchased an extra 2GB’s of RAM for the old computer hoping it would get me by for another year.  So off I went to get a new computer.  Yet another ‘unplanned for’ expense !!

Thankfully I had my little 10” Netbook which kept me connected to the Internet but that was about it.  Everything else was on my old computer.  With minimal charge left I copied a few files and had three computers going at once !!  LOL  The one on the left is the new one; the one in the middle is my little Netbook computer; and the one on the right is the old one.  Without putting out the cash to get the old computer fixed, I have no idea yet how I’m going to get all my files and pics to the new one ?  Any computer geeks out there with any suggestions ??

The new one has this fingerprint thingie whereby I don’t have to type in a password – I just swipe my finger !!

Thankfully the last days have been beautiful so Bennie could be outside while I was laying down.  But he wasn’t pleased to be woken up from his nap for this photo op !!

Yesterday I was feeling well enough to take the rig out as the tanks needed to be emptied and I was very low on propane.  While at the gas station this happened.  Jeeze, People will park anywhere these days !!  LOL

A friend of mine just sent me this to cheer me up.  It is hysterical !!

OK,  So I'm layin' here sick to death of this rain and feeling miserable.

My chest is sore from all the coughing I've done

I've gone through a box of Kleenix

the laying down

Me arse has

flattened from all

And I'm sick to death of doing jig saw puzzles.

So it's my Blog and I'll BITCH if I want to !!  LOL

Seriously Folks, I am wondering how much rain can

actually fall from the sky ??

It has been relentless all day – pouring heavily.  Surely there's a maximum amount it can hold ?  Surely it's gotta stop sometime this year ??

But "M" of "I & M RV Park might have saved the day.  She called me with a link to a website about great motorcycle riding routes throughout B.C.; California and Washington…

My fellow riders

If I can't ride then I might as well buy something that relates to riding.  Yes, That's my story and I'm sticking to it !!  It's not that I 'can't' ride, it is more like I'm a WUSS and definitely a fair weather rider.

So yesterday I decided to stop by the Harley Davidson dealership in Langley.  Nice store !  And YES it is actually there, unlike the one in Port Coquitlam where I was told (LIED TO) there was one and it wasn't there.

I really was desperate for a new helmet.  The visor on my old one was so scratched I could barely see out of it.

Oh I do like to show off don't I !!  LOL

This one is way cool 'cause it has a thingie on the top to push down a sun visor.  I like that as my eyes have become ultra sensitive to light.  And then there's a button also on the top that you barely touch and the visor just pops back up.

No question where my 'loyalties' are huh ?  Or is it just plain 'stupidity' !!

And of course The Ben Man had to get in on the action to see if it was suitable.  Notice how HAPPY he looks.

But I dare say my Sacramento friend will still NAG me about my helmet as this one is only 3/4, not a full-face.

I've spent the last days getting together with old friends.  Met Lynn and Tyner for a mega deeee-lish brunch at White Spot on Sunday.  They drove from Vancouver out here to Abbotsford so they could see my rig and of course the STARS of my Blog – Bennie and my Harley.  Dropped into this great place for Ice Cream afterwards.

And got someone there to take a pic of the three of us.  I haven't asked permission to post their pics on my Blog so I blocked out their faces.  LOL  I wanted to insert a Smiley Face instead but I don't know how to do that.

Yesterday I borrowed the car of my Hosts here at "I & M RV Park" and drove into Surrey to visit another old friend.  It took me 2 hours to find her place as I got horrifically lost !  No surprise there huh.  Afterwards I drove into downtown Vancouver to have a look around at my old stompin' grounds.  I have to tell you Vancouver is one beautiful City – breathtaking with its surrounding mountains – and English Bay was full of colour with Tulips.  I'll get pics the next time.  Got lost (again) getting back home.

Today I took a run into the Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam area because I was LIED to.  Yes Folks, Hard to believe I know but that old friend of mine who found me on Facebook awhile back told me there was a Harley Davidson dealership there so we arranged to meet.  We were also going to finally go to White Sport where I could get their legendary hamburger that I remembered so well.  So despite a sky that didn't look promising and the very good possibility of rain, I got on the bike very excited to put myself out of my withdrawals as I hadn't been to a Harley dealer in MONTHS !!!

I fought insane traffic on the #1 Highway (pffft….these people haven't driven on Highway 401 or the Don Valley in Toronto !!), feared getting lost yet again, but with great determination I found the place where the dealership WAS SUPPOSED TO BE.  It had closed THREE YEARS prior !!  I was lured there under false pretenses !! I tried to make the best of it and made that saucy Mrs. Tang pick up the bill !  Serves her right !  Me Nerves !  She was such a nice, quiet young lady back in 'da day when we worked together.

Naturally everyone has to get their pic taken on the Harley, but I don't think there is any hope that she will be a biker.  For the first pic she sat on the bike like a MOPE.  I had to tell her to at least pretend and put her hands on the handlebars….

Then for the next shot I had to tell her to put her feet on the footboards !  She was afraid the bike would fall over if she put her foot up……..like her teenie little foot on that teenie little body was going to hold the bike up !!  AND like I was going to tell her to do anything that would hurt my bike !  I told you – there's really no hope for this one !!

Then we went back to her house so I could see her adorable hubby (Norm) and meet one of her adult kids.  Her son is older than Betty was when we first met.  So again another photo op with Norm on the bike.  Now HE knows how to at least sit on a bike.  And he loved it.  He wants one !!  Of course I told him that he must only buy a Harley.

See how relaxed he is.  A natural I'd say !! He had to actually get it out of the driveway for me when I was leaving.

In this pic I'm certain he is pondering how he can get one…..I do believe we have a new Harley owner in the making.

Got back on the Highway to head home and I actually DID NOT get lost.  Perhaps there is hope for me afterall ??

I'm happy to report that (so far) I haven't seen any leaks in the rig.  This is something I read a lot about on other Blogs and the various RV websites I visit.  And I can assure you it has been tested !  I've been here a week now and it has rained heavily for 5 out of those 7 days.  Obviously something I was used to when I lived here back in 'da day, but now not so much !!  LOL  Especially since I've been South for the past 6 months.

I find it very depressing and I'm not motivated to do anything.  I'm staying up far too late at night (1:00AM being the average before I go to bed) and then being tired during most of the day.  Thankfully I'm able to catch up on all the TV Shows I've missed while on the road and right now watching Criminal Minds (one of my absolute favourites).  I missed all of last Season so I've been watching 2-3 Episodes a night on my computer.  I think I only have a few more to watch.

My PEEPS are getting restless though due to my lack of daily blogging.  Did you read that comment yesterday from my riding buddy Bob ?  LOL  Nothing to blog about – woke up – it rained all day – went to bed = THE END

Bennie hasn't been himself since yesterday so I'm a wee bit worried (to say the least) and keeping a close eye on him.

Things have deteriorated here at "I and M RV Park".  Yes, I know, it's hard to believe in such a short time.  Yesterday my laundry got washed and dried but NOT folded !! Pffft !  Well OK – to tell the truth, everything got folded except the Management here drew the line at folding my socks…..those I have to do myself !!  So I suppose I can't really complain too much especially since Dinner is still being prepared for me each night.  I probably should mosey on soon though so as not to outwear my welcome.

The last two days have been raining and cold so not much happening.  I tagged along with my hosts to a Doctor's appointment and arranged to meet my old friend, Betty, for coffee – not to be confused with "Betty", my GPS that I gave 'da flick to last November !  Actually I had to be kind to that "Betty" and put her in da home where all the other senile gps's go.

It's been almost 30 years since I've seen Betty and she hasn't changed a bit !!  Seriously !!  I would have recognized her on the street.  That damn kid looks like she's only 30 years old instead of 50 years old !!  We've chatted several times on Skype since she tracked me down on Facebook SEE HERE but actually finally met 'in person' yesterday.  Our time was brief and we'll meet again, however I have to say how wonderful it was seeing her and hearing all about her life over the past 30 years.

Today the sun decided to come out again and I was so thrilled.  I was going to get the bike out and take a run into Vancouver, the downtown and West End area as that was my old stompin' grounds.  But Maureen suggested I take a run to Harrison Hot Springs via the #7 which I did.  What a great road to ride a bike on and Harrison Hot Springs is still as awesome as I remembered it. This is one of the times I was there and it was 1979…

A short video clip of my scenic ride …..

A quick stop on my way to take some pics.  Have I mentioned I LOVE my bike.  You have to agree it is GORGEOUS !!

I had lunch and then took a wee walk around to take some pics..

Here's a few pics that tell a little bit about Harrison Hot Springs for those that don't know…(me being one of those)

0102 0304

And two short video clips of the actual Town so you can get an idea of what this place is like…..

This is a very busy place during the summer months.

Oh,  While I was out zoom zooming around on the bike, the Management at "I & M RV Park" washed, dried AND folded my laundry.  The Management at "L & L RV Park" might want to take note here….
